Inside the role of Head of Marketing
1. Courtney, you’ve been with Crunch for almost six months now. What does your role look like?
I run the marketing team, setting the top-line strategy for the team and ensuring we are working hard towards reaching our targets.
My main responsibility is collaborating with other team leaders to make sure that the marketing team is presenting Crunch in the correct way and that our objectives are aligned with the wider business goals.
2. Can you give us a sneak peek of what a typical day looks like for you?
Most of my days are spent in meetings with my team to keep tasks moving forward as well as on calls with other departments that need marketing support or who can help us frame our efforts.
I also spend a significant amount of time liaising with external partners or organizations that can benefit Crunch and our marketing tactics.
Besides calls, I will generally check statistics for channel performance, lead generation and sales daily to keep my finger on the pulse.
There is also a lot of work in 'Slides', either developing a strategy document or creating a reporting document that will help frame the business's decisions moving forward.
3. Sounds like a busy day! Can you tell us about a project you’re particularly excited about?
Definitely! We’ve been working on the transition from Pardot to Marketing Cloud. It’s been a huge project, and while we’re not quite there yet, I’m really excited about what this will mean for our team. I believe it’s going to be a game-changer for our capabilities and will definitely help us reach our goals.
4. As the leader of the marketing team, how do you approach managing and supporting your team?
I would like to think that I always have my team's best interest at heart. Whilst there is a high expectation of what my team should deliver it's based on my complete confidence in their abilities.
I have an open door (or open Google Meet) policy and try to make sure that my team knows that they can come to me for help, support or guidance whenever they need it.

We all know that behind every great role, there’s a person with a unique story.
5. We all have a life outside of work—what’s something unique about you?
Well, outside of marketing, I’m a qualified Personal Trainer, a gym owner, and the founder of an online training app called U:PT. I’ve always had a passion for fitness, and I’ve also played semi-professional basketball and placed 3rd in an IFBB bodybuilding show. Fitness has been a huge part of my life, and I love bringing that energy to everything I do.
6. What about any talents that might surprise us?
I played semi-professional basketball as well as placing 3rd in a IFBB bodybuilding show.
