HMRC recognised software
Established in 2007 as the UK’s first accountancy software combined with an online accountant, we’ve been the ideal business for HMRC to discuss its latest ideas with.
We paved the way, being the first business to roll out Real Time Information (RTI) in 2012, delivering real-time Pay as You Earn (PAYE) information to HMRC, through integrated payroll software.
Since then, we’ve been working with HMRC and their consultants on numerous projects including recently with Making Tax Digital (MTD).
Where Crunch’s software has been recognised by HMRC:
- Making Tax Digital for VAT - enter Crunch in ‘Search software by name’
- Self Assessment software supplier list
- MTD ITSA (In progress, not required until 2024)
What does it mean to be HMRC recognised?
It means that a business has been officially recognised as a 'Making Tax Digital' software package for HMRC. MTD for VAT is part of the Making Tax Digital initiative. It aims to digitise much of the UK’s tax reporting system.
Why should I care that Crunch is HMRC recognised?
You gain the benefits of automation and digitisation - we make it easy for businesses and accountants to submit VAT returns to HMRC through our online software.
We’re pleased to be recognised as a software supplier supporting MTD for VAT, and worked very closely with HMRC consultants to be awarded with an accreditation as a MTD software provider.
We’re committed to continuously supporting small businesses, bookkeepers, and accountants with managing finances, which is why we opted to be HMRC recognised.
Should I choose a company who is HMRC recognised, and why?
Yes, it’s essential you choose a company who are HMRC recognised. Not only will it help you meet your compliance requirements, but you’ll also gain the positives of automation and digitisation.
