Inside the role of a People Advisor
1. Sarah, you’ve been with Crunch for over a decade. How has your role evolved?
I actually started my life at Crunch in Client Services. I worked as a Senior Quality Controller which involved a lot of auditing. I moved over to the People team just over two years ago after applying for the internal role as I’d always been interested in HR.
I actually started my journey at Crunch in Client Services as a Senior Quality Controller, where I was deeply involved in auditing. Just over two years ago, I transitioned to the People team after applying for an internal role. Since then, I’ve progressed from People Coordinator to People Advisor and completed my CIPD qualification with the support of Crunch.
2. Can you tell us a little more about your role and key responsibilities?
I support the Head of People, the People team as a whole, and the wider business by providing accurate and timely guidance. I also advise and support managers and team members in accordance with Crunch policies and procedures and HR best practices.
I also play a significant role in a number of transformational People projects and initiatives, to deliver our people strategy and employee value proposition. This includes acting as a pivotal ambassador of the Crunch brand, with the passion and energy to embed a culture reflecting the ethos and values of the Company as we grow. This helps make sure we have the best employee experience possible for our Crunch team.
3. What does a typical day in your role look like?
At the moment I’m supporting and driving recruitment campaigns and assisting with transformational people projects and initiatives. My role also involves providing support to the People Team and wider Crunch team in a number of ways. I’m also involved in the creation of our internal newsletter to keep our team members informed.
4. Can you share a recent project or initiative that you’re particularly proud of?
We are currently implementing a new ATS (applicant tracking system) which will help to streamline our current recruitment process for our hiring managers and the People Team.

5. Let’s get to know you a bit better - tell us something interesting about yourself!
I’m a thrill seeker, I love roller coasters and completed a skydive for charity some years ago.
6. Do you have any hidden talents or interests that might surprise us?
I wish I could add something surprising here like singing (although my car is a regular karaoke) or playing the piano, but sadly not. However, I do love cooking and I’ve been told I’m pretty good at it - my specialties include a Victoria sponge and a Sunday roast!
